BRAIN METASTASES FROM PRIMARY UTERINE CERVICAL CANCER: A CASE REPORT AND A LITERATURE REVIEW

Background :Brain metastasesfromprimarycervical cancer are very rare.Wepresentthis report, to describe a case of brainmetastasesfromprimaryuterine cervical and conduct literaturereview about clinicalpresentation, treatment, prognosis thisdesease. Case Presentation :A 51-year-old woman, followed since 2017 for squamous cell carcinoma the cervix which she had underwent surgical treatment received radiotherapy, being asymptomatic 4 years after completion treatment.She is brought Emergency Department in February 2021 forintracranial hypertension syndrome associated with behavioral troubles, symptoms that developed progressively during last two months before her consultation.The clinical examination found conscious patient without sensory or motor deficit damage cranial nerves. A cerebral Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) revealed left frontal tumor process 50 mm diameter enhanced peripherally injection contrast product, necrotic surrounded by significant edema determining mass effect on median structures signs engagement under falcoriel (figure 1). The patientunderwent asurgicalresectionofthetumor, themassbeingremoved en bloc. Histopathologicalandimmunohistologicalexaminationoftheresectedtumorrevealed metastaticoriginfrom primarycervicalsquamoscellcarcinoma. postoperative brain scan persistence 14 perilesional edema. subsequently total radiotherapy at dose 37.5 Gy (15 fractions 2.5 Gy) then an additional residue 10 (4 Gy). control performed one month end showed regression size lesion oedema.Twelve CT progression secondary localization.Sixteen was still alive oncology. Conclusion: Brain metastases from primary uterine tumors extremely rare generally have poor prognosis.Multimodal therapy such as surgery depending status individual patients,should be recommended patients metastasis improve survival.
